Green Oak Garden ShelterThe garden shelter below was rebuilt in 2016. It is a green oak structure. Its 10" (250mm) sections machined and assembled on site from both reclaimed and new green oak timbers. 150mm x 50mm rafters @ 400 C/S support the hot bonded ply roof and is finished off with rosemary tiles. The rear of the building incorporates a clamp brickwork panel and is under-drawn using reclaimed cedar planks. The original buildings roof had too shallow a pitch, so water had come back over the top of the tiles and rotted the structure. To prevent this happening again, the rear wall was lifted & the new plywood decking hot-bonded.
Below is the 3D design of the oak frame roof in step by step stages.

The finished oak shelter
The large 10" timbers notched out & bolted together with 1' long coach screws counter sunk in from the top.
A discrete strip of lead at the eaves forms a drip & prevents water blowing back up & staining the face of the oak.
Granite Archway
Below is the design only for a stone mason to show his client before construction.
Timber Stable Block.
The stable block below completely built on site. Its walls are 100mm x 50mm timbers. Plywood on the inside, insulation then cladding vapour barrier & treated tong-grooved boarding. Breathable roofing felt & cedar roof shingles cover the roof.
Solar Panels & water tanks can be designed into equestrian buildings built in remote areas.
